I get beat up on this all the time.. but figure what you need to make an hour. It should apply to Cc'ing or tile and grout cleaning.
I beg to differ that tile and grout cleaning is a specialty.
Marble, etc. now thats specialty floor care.
Not ceramic or porcelain tiles w/grout.
We can try to BS ourselves all day long. But it aint working.

If you actually do all the steps to properly clean carpets.. and I mean prevac, mech agitate, HWE , post pad,, the whole 'shabang',
then IMO honestly, tile and grout cleaning is actually easier.
So why therefore do people want to charge a dollar per sq. ft for tile and grout and then .25 or so for carpets. It never made sense to me. Your time is your time. Charge for it. Let the other variables fall where they may. IMO, we get paid for our time. not sq. footage, rooms or for chemicals or protectant.
Its all about time. If you get paid for your time, you are always profitable if you are working.

Gather your costs. Figure what you need/want to make. It doesnt matter what I charge or someone clear across the country. What is the job worth to you. What do you need to profit and be happy. That will be different than me. So there isn't really a right or wrong answer.

Pricing threads are always a hot topic and highly debated.

There isnt really a right or wrong answer.
Geography plays a key part in it too.

I know this is vague. But honest.
I wont blow smoke up your pantleg. LOL

Come over to the dirtygrout.com BB at...

You will find many answers.

What area are you in? Pricing differs greatly. Size, soiling, residential, commercial. On average I would say about $1/sf to clean only.
