I just mexed a rec hall that had not been cleaned sinced (it looked like the 1950's). It took me two hours to pre-vac. I could hear all the sand being vacuumed up. There was paint all over the place. What do you guys do to remove paint? I used P.O.G. then cimexed it. OK results. I used alot of P.O.G. There was also a set of stairs. I vacuumed then sprayed releasit ds and brushed it all in. I had my truckmount, but didn't want to start her up for one set off stairs. How do you guys do stairs??

Ralph

P.S. This job was a freebe for the
kids in my town.

Cleaning stairs

There are seeveral ways to clean stairs- one of the quickest is with a stair and furniture roto and Fiber Plus Pads such as I used on this page- http://www.heacocks.com/University/EncapSofa2.htm

Rick has a shampoo brush that can be used with a drill motor also, see it on his products page, although I never used it, I can see it would work fine.

I use a GLS for stairs almost always. I use it for other stuff, so it's always around. If I did not have it, I'd use Fiber Plus pad on a rotary, but it's slower. I have a Makita rotary, which is overkill, but it does a killer job on stairs. Slow, though. I'd only use it if GLS is unavailable or if the stairs are truly bodaciously bad. Rotary and time and Fiber Plus will do an awesome job, not just OK.

IF it's just a few stairs, you can do them by hand if yer lookin fer some aerobical exercise...

GLS for stairs all the way, residential and commercial, very fast and very effective. I would recommend taking off the front brush guard as it allows you to get closer, and also the brush can hit the riser and clean the toe marks. I love the way it cleans the bull nose on stairs. It's a 10 minute job for $39.00, you do the math. Take the handle off at the top of the stairs, plug in at the bottom and "Git-R-Done!
