stair / upholstery hand-held cleaners NOT to buy...

Derek

i've posted on i can't recall which forum about a small 6" car op / buffer i bought from hardware store. for anyone who's thinking on going this route over something like the heavier duty CCS or Challenger stair tool, don't waste your money...they bog down easily as most with a brain have guessed. though i've never tried CCS or Challenger's stair tools either. do they bog down when light pressure is applied?

same goes for a variable speed 90 degree polisher i bought new off of eBay...the guy always has some on there. i posted about this purchase and for those who asked about it, again, don't waste your money. bog's down easily, and the lowest speed setting is 600 RPM, i think 300 RPM should be available as well.

as always, i'm here to flush my $ so you guys don't have to --- Derek.

I don't do a lot of upholstery and I may do stairs once a year. On the two occasions I did clean in the last year with Releasit, the donut hole for a max pad on stairs and the chaise seemed to work fine. I don't think I expended all that much energy. I imagine a light to medium scrub brush should work also.

I use a Milwaukee car polisher. It has variable speed, from zero to (?). It has plenty of power, does not bog down, and should last for years. It's a bit expensive but I think it's worth it.
I put velcro on the face and use the regular Cimex pads.
