| As you may or may not know, I cleaned the carpets at the school where I have my full time little pay job.
Winslow Twp School 6.
Because our Maint sup is to cheap to buy equip we need or repair the crap that we have[unless he looks good in the process of doing it], I brought in my own big yellow, pads and releisit to clean the carpets[seven rooms of diff sizes two of which were large music rooms the rest were offices].
Well the principle came back from his two week vacation and said one word "WOW".
He could not get over how good the carpets looked.
He was so pleased he gave me $25.00 out of his own pocket and bought me lunch that day.
So I guess the job did pay off after all.
Any way, I do agree those rooms did look good.
I was very pleased with the turn out.
Thanks Rick, for the big yellow money machine. One day I plan to start making money with it....LOL

Joe,
workin at a school ya do some stupid things don't ya?. I always used my own pickup to plow snow, was alot better than the crappy little tractor they had. And when thier mower broke down, took mine up so the football field would be done.

You hit the nail on the head.
I guess if the job has to get done it has to get done.
Besides the $25.00 and the pizza made it a worth while.

Funny thing, that big ugly yellow machine can make you more money that that principal makes. Make the laugh on him.
Only benefits would be the difference.
Work a little more with that thing and easily account for those too.
Why work for 10.00 per hr (??) when you can make in one morning, what they pay you for a week?
Not right or wrong,, just asking.
I assume you love the job and I respect that.
Nobody is better than anybody else,, merely different. Thats a good thing. LOL

I have been doing the same thing for a couple of years. I will buy something and prove to the management that it works and they pay me back for it. They have purchased a lot of crap from local sale poeple. Then it would break and no one would fix it and it would sit in the corner and gather dust.
I just can't stand it when I know there is a better and easier way to do it.
Dobs,
I do the 2 jobs things for the benefits. Plus I make more then your above wage. But the best thing about it is the money I have saved with free tuition. That is a $40,000 a year benefit at the moment that I would have to pay out of my own pocket.

Right on Stevo. Are you Joe above? lol<br You need the money with those two kids you now have in college.
You aren't lookng for a 3rd job yet are you? ha. />
Now that tuition is a hugh benefit.
and if someone would love another job, and do this as a part time, that would be cool.
if I found something that I loved more, I doubt it will happen, but I would never quit this. i would do it part time and have all kinds of 'eating out' money.
Think of all the fishing stuff you could buy. heck, you could get ya one of those shiny and sparklie boats. LOL
Its all good. Just enjoy it and be happy. Nothing wrong with working at the schools.
Life is short. Smile and laugh and enjoy each day.
Take care my friend.

Well Stephen,
To be truthful with you I hate the job, but it pays the bills for now.
Our school system is run by a bunch of people that would not make it in the real world.
There is so much bull that goes on there its sad.
I mean come on, when an employee has to bring in his own gear to clean carpets. Thats sad.
Like I said, for now it pays the bills.
One day I hope I can say big yellow pays the bills for me.

Right on Stevo.
I went to school to teach. Theres a reason that I chose not to teach though. To be educated is one thing.
I didnt have a problem with the administration. my local schools are actually great.
Its the kids. And I never had a problem with them.
Just way too much in the way of parameters as to what you can say, do, teach, lol
The parents are into the process too much. Say one thing wrong.. lawsuit, etc.
Schools and parents are such a joke.
They dont raise their kids today by the same 'old school' theories that i grew up in,, them too.
Kids get away with murder. dont work, early with sex, terrible language, and lazy as all getup' with the internet, all the games, etc.
I just keep myself away from it and don't worry about it.
Thats how I survive.
Plus, a good day in this biz can net a weeks pay for the teacher.. (after tax pay for them)
An avg teacher, with 2o+ years in our system, is at about 55k per year.
But look at what they have to put up with with lazy kids that dont want to work and all the parents breathing down their necks.. no thanks.
