| I recently did demo's at two different commercial accounts. I noticed that before i cleaned that there were long lines about 12" apart going the lenghth of the hallways. I thought that might be caused by using the walk-behind hot water extractor. After inquiring my suspicions were confirmed. My thought was that after using the cimex that the lines wouldn't go away but be more visable now that dirt is gone. I did the demo but the lines stayed. There was a night and day difference except the lines. Has anyone else had this challenge and if so what did you do about it?
Thanks

Wayne,
Obviously I haven't seen the lines you speak of. I did see them in a residential setting prior to starting a hwe. As the homeowner and I looked more closely (it was a living/dining room combo), we noticed several about the same width apart as yours. Considering the carpet had never been cleaned before and I hadn't even turned the vacuum on yet, we determined it had to be a manufacturing flaw. Could it be that?
Just a thought. |

It may be worth your money to get an IICRC certified carpet inspector to look at the carpet and make a determination as to the cause. |

Was the carpet a polyprop;??
It is common to see two parallel lines, where someone has dragged furniture and friction burned the carpet.
This is usually noticed more so AFTER the carpet has been cleaned.
And guess who, usually gets the blame??
I can't see any reason why wheels on a machine would leave marks that could not be raked away.
Cheers,
Shorty.

I had to start making extra dry passes when lines were visible. Cured my problem but they were strictly caused by traffic patterns. I recently did a job for a office building with
a new tennant moving in. I used the cimex and the
carpet looked fantastic. Two days later the new
tenant called me back. The moving company dragged
all the new desks across the floors. The carpets
were friction burned. I brought in the cimex and
recleaned the areas that were effected the cimex worked
but I was there a long time with many dry passes. I'm just
glad it was there problem and not mine
