Connections

September 23 2005 at 1:42 AM

Rick Gelinas

We arrived this afternoon.

We picked up the machines... Cimex, Sprint, Avenger, Pile-Master, Challenger.

We set up the trade show booths in the morning.

Tonight ICS had a nice reception. Big crowd.

Then Nancy and I hooked up with friends and went to a Japanese restaurant.

Looks like Connections Vegas-05 is gonna be great.

I'll keep you posted.

Have a great time, Rick! I wish I was there. I was shootin' for Vegas since I missed Orlando, but the finances are still tight. Wait, what's that? A light at the end of the tunnel?? Maybe Tampa will be in my plans! I certainly hope so.

The First Day Was Awesome

September 24 2005, 11:08 AM

On Friday we were in the LMCCA low moisture "hands-on" demo room from 1-4. It was packed! Tons of people got to run the Cimex, Sprint, and Challenger. They also got to check out the new Carpet-Avenger propane carpet scrubber. here were several other exhibitors in the room showing all their cool low moisture gadgetry too. I'll post pictures when I get back.

After the LMCCA "hands-on" event, we had a catered exhibitors meeting at 4PM. Larry Cooper and his Connections gang know how to put on an event! The food was awesome and the banquet room was packed with a few hundred exhibitors.

Then the trade show opened from 5:15-8:30. It was FANTASTIC! The show is ENORMOUS this year. There are so many exhibitors with cool stuff. And there was a perpetual crowd at booths 100-102. There was a lot of interest. Of course the Cimex is always the show stopper. However, a lot of people were really impressed with the Sprint at this show too. The Carpet-Avenger had people kind of dumb-founded because they had never seen anything like it before. And a lot of people were impressed with the smoothness of the Challenger. The Pile-Master with the Collection/Hoppers had some nice interest too. And the the Releasit chemicals were displayed too. So we had a packed booth the whole time.

After the trade show there was a Prochem Party. It was great to spend some time hanging out meeting friends new and old. Talk about family. There were so many of our friends at this event it was unbelievable. Gary Bethel and his wife who is our Releasit distributors from Australia are here. And 2 representatives from a large printery in upstate New York who use the Cimex and Releasit mingled at the party. There were so many great people to see and talk too, it was just great. Many of our customers came up and we got to hang out and talk a bit. Connections lives up to its name... it's a place were "connections" are made and renewed.

Hey I even got to meet Jimmy Ladwig. And I gotta say he seemed like a gentleman in person. We had a good time talking about "shampoo"

So the first day rocked! If you get the chance to come next year - go for it.

Wish you would stop giving such glowing reports about Connections.

Here I am sitting in my corner, looking at my pc, with the sun just coming up, and the birds chatting outside that woke me up, and all I can think of is:

"Why the heck am I not there"??

Sounds like another fantastic event, as per usual.

I'll join the other guys and say, "Wish we were there also".

Oh well, Clearwater is just two hundred and twenty one days away.

Then we can catch up, 'til then, enjoy........

Cheers,

Delia & Shorty.

Day 2 = NICE

September 25 2005, 12:58 AM

It's been awesome!

Just got back to our room - LONG day.

Connections buffet this morning.

Caught Joe Polish's Keynote Address. Good information. Everyone seemed interested in the topic of Joe's subject which was "Robotic Marketing".

I caught a brief portion of Joey Picket's program next. Man Joey is a whole hearted guy. I really enjoyed Joey! But I had to take off and head into the trade show which opened at 11:30.

From 11:30-12PM I was invited to feature a live demonstration showing the Cimex and encapsulation in the trade show demo area. It went well.

The trade show was real busy.

Then this evening was the awards banquet. Great food and great company with friends.

I've been an exhibitor at every Connections since the first one. And this one tops 'em all so far. It's jam packed. My favorite part is just getting to hang out with so many friends and customers. It's more like a big family reunion.

Oh and Derek, yes Patterson.

Well tomorrow comes too early so it's off to bed for a few hours. Connections is non-stop. And it is fun

Wish ya all were here too!

The Final Day

September 26 2005, 2:57 AM

I started off with a video shoot first thing this morning 8AM. I hired the ICS video team to do a video production of encapsulation. It will be useful for demonstrating and teaching the encap method.

Then another LONG day of trade show. I bought really good shoes that are especially comfortable. They didn't really cut it, these dogs are hurtin.

This evening we went out with friends for dinner at the Venetian Hotel. Wow what a gorgeous place! We walked through the Wynn hotel too. POSH!

Tomorrow morning we arrange shipping our stuff back. And then we fly out around 5PM. Connections is a whirlwind of activity. This one has been especially nice. But it will be good to get back home.

I'll post a few pictures when I get back.
