What about vacuuming up the damp bits

I'm used to using a truckmount. So I need to be sure that there is no fiber bits left on the carpet to mar the appearance when I'm done encapping. I give the carpet a good vacuuming before encapping, but how do I pick up any lint etc. left over at the end. Is it okay to quickly vacuum the damp carpet with a regular vac? Do I need a special kind of vacuum without a paper bag for this? I'd appreciate any suggestions on this.

Bruce, If it is not a wet/dry vac it is designed to vacuum up "dry" soil. If you are new at encapping, you may not realize that the carpet dries very fast, so you should be alright if you clean the whole job and then do your post vacuuming last. I sometimes use a vac with a paper bag and have never had a problem. A few dust bunnies left can make a otherwise good job look incomplete.
