| My first bid to encap carpet was accepted. Here are a few questions. What do you use to remove...
Gummy substance unknown goo. May just be gum.
Tar from a roof or parking lot.
Adhesives not sure of the type it is flexible on the fibers.
I do not know exactly what these spots are so if you could give some general guide lines that would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Pete |

the Goo-d-solv and Citris Gel Pro are by far the best I've found for those types of stuff. Works great on gum too. I like the Gel-pro better, but harder to find locally. Don't soak into the carpet as fast. Do your spots of goo first, than run over with Cimex a couple of times with DS.

I agree with Brian. I check all carpeted areas to be cleaned and then I use Pro-solve Gum remover. It comes
in a tube and has the consistency of vasaline, It's great stuff dab it on and use a bone scraper. Then clean with the cimex.. Good luck

Like Brian said,, the citrus gels work great. I use a gum tool with teeth and it rolls it up very quick.
I use alot of VDS.(volatilt dry solvents) like Bridgepoints Solvent Clean for about all my spotting. its the first thing that I try. It doesnt need rinsing.
I use Encap Spot too..
And when HWE'ing,, I use a ton of WD40 for adhesives,, spray mist,, agitate and that adhesive just balls up and removes itself from the fibers.. PRESTO.
I use it too with encapsulation.
Just spray, agitate, towell off and then cimex/encap right over the spot. I have NEVER had a problem yet.
dont let it soak down into the fibers though if you arent steam extracting.
There are many ways to skin a cat.
Give me a shout anytime you need help over the phone.

HMM> go to Bridgepoints website.
its about 4.95 or less..
I actually keep it in my pocket,, agitate solvents, wd40, citrus gel, and about every spotter that i use.. better than my foot and my fingers. lol
check out their website..
or catalog.
I will try to be more specific and look later this evening.
maybe RICk can post a pic of it if I find it.
Its a definite must have tool, IMO anyways 4 what thats worth. HA
It is plastic.. and looks almost like an open ended wrench.. but with teeth.

| Gum Getter is the name and Question about Freezing Spray? | October 5 2005, 12:15 AM |
Gum Getter- $7.95, they are awesome. But be careful they can fuzz a carpet out as they can handle some aggressive use- a little force goes a long way with those tools.
On the subject of gum, some of you guys have mentioned freezing gum. Rick do you carry the gum freeze chemical?
Thanks,
