Cimex problem

My Cimex started bogging down today - squeaks first then bogs. All kinds of rugs - seems to happen more when going side to side or when "switching lanes". Pads are plenty wet.

Check first of all that you have a good set of pads, not worn down , and the plastic drivers are digging into the carpet. Second, and most probably , check for a loose drive belt. Hope this helps.

Sounds like it may be time for a new belt.

Can I order one from the site or do I need to call it in?

I have one 19" Cimex that has over 1000 hours on it and it does not need a belt, of course this Cimex has always been lifted (or take the pressure off on start up) that is my instructions to anyone who uses it. Does anyone else do this?

You can call in the order. I'm home right now and the prices are at the office, but if memory serves me, I think they're $88 with free ground shipping. If you want to order one, it will go out tomorrow.

Ray, yes i do that 98% of the time. 2% i am forgetful

when my Mex is "cold" / when i 1st turn it on, it'll bog easily if i lift the handle off the ground putting full weight onto the cleaning heads. but after 10 minutes or so, no more bogging. i'm sure that bogging down is not a good thing. prolly wearing that belt down faster...i should let her warm up for awhile technically.

thanx --- Derek.

Starting up

Hi Ray, yep, I also do that.

Rick told me to do that at Connections last year, so that's the only way both Delia and I will operate Big Yella.

Sorta like listening to a instruction manual.

If you don't do as you're told, who else is there to blame??

Cheers,

Shorty.

I always take the weight off when I first start cleaning - a habit I got into rite away. The Cimex is 3+ years old - so I will replace the belt and see if that does it.
