Hwe Guys?

There are so many products out there for HWE (pre-sprays and rinses)I was wondering what you guys use and what results do you get from these products. Do you use boosters, oxiders etc. I have a very powerful truckmount and want to use the best products I can. I know some of you guys swear by mike's hardball chem and others are using bio kleen. I appreciate any input. Well I'm off to a Sunday morning encap job. Have a great weekend.

Hardball PowrPak
Attack by Cross American.

I do not boost any of these unless it is a Nasty Resturant then I use a powdered enzyme by Fab Pro it the job is going to slow.

Mixing the PowrPak and the Attack also works great.

I have not tryed Encap Punch yet but a few have said it works well

My preference for HWE products for the last 10 years or so is Bi-O-Kleen products for several reasons.

It is as powerful as any other from a cleaning standpoint.

It is more concentrated than most others, so less concentrate for the Ready-to-Use is needed, so the cost is less per use.

It is safe for the user- me- customers, kids, pets, etc.

No petroleum byproducts. 100% biodegradable. No added scents or perfumes.

Safe to use for chemically sensitive people.

Works for me.

HWE Mixes

October 30 2005, 5:40 PM

I use to be a straight Bridgepoint guy, since they are local and have been very good to me.

My old mix was generally:
Zone Perfect (Pre-Spray) mixed with:
Boost All
CitruSolv

Emulisifier/Acid Rinse
End Zone

However, on light colored carpets I noticed resoiling too rapidly. I have switched to Rick's Encap-Punch for almost all residential jobs. I still use Bridgepoint spotters for specialized stuff. Other then that I have not found anything that the Encap-Punch can't handle- but then again I also run a RotoVac allowing my to flush the carpet really well too.

I have noticed less resoiling and at a slower rate. Plus it is one chemical, versus four the other way. My cost is slightly more in the long run, but less time and higher customer satisfaction- so well worth the cost (at least to me).

And Rick is always cool to me dispite the fact that I am far from his best customer as the "World's Greatest Weekend Warrior Carpet Cleaner".

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Punch it out!

I use Encap Punch on all of my jobs, even the greasy restuarants. Works great and no wick back or residue resoiling. I use the Sprint to apply it so it get well agitated before extraction. Wish Rick could get the price a little more in line for this stuff, maybe if I keep singing its praise we'll get the volume up enough to get the cost down.....ya right!

Hi Ralph.

take chemical critique with a grain of salt.
I say that respectively.

Most cleaners never let their chemical of choice work for them.
They shortcut the chemical then stand back and say "dang.. that stuff isn't worth a crap"

You will find big advantages in methodology with any avg. good cleaning chem. there are lots of top tier ones out there. But you have to let it work for you.
And you have to use it.
Most cleaners MIST on their prespray.. and if I am not mistaken.. it's not called PREMIST now is it? LOL

1. USE the dang stuff
2. get it into contact with the soil load. If you don't, you ain't cleaning squat. You are doing what I call a 'dirty rinse" and that is no justice to your job.
3. mech agitate..
4. Dwell time, soft water, post padding.

all kinds of ways to make your prespray work for you.

Most times.. I find cleaners suffer from lack of proper methodology. Terrible wanding technique. and MOST often.. never enuf prespray.

I worked with a cleaner in B'ton , Indiana last week. The first thing I noticed was his prespray method. He was holding it about waist high.. moving only his wrist. He literally had it on the dry wall. trim. everything but the ceiling fan, ceiling and carpets. NO crap.
and he expected this prespray to work for him.

In a nutshell. work on your method.

As for me. I use soft water.. which allows me to cut my rations in about half.

I use a private labeled prespray and also BP's Bio Break.. (enzymes)

I mix into a premade 2 gallon bucket of hot water with BPs Boost All.. an oxidizer (powdered)

Also into this,, i add about 1 oz per RTU gallon.. Citrus solv.. it cuts the grease.. but more importantly.. works on the mental pshcye of the customers. Being clean is one thing. smelling clean is the kicker before they even see it.

and I mix a little STPP into this.

I use tons of water. mech agitate all jobs.. (RX) and I post pad about all jobs.. and EVERY berber.. they demand it. Don't let anyone tell you NOT>

So there you have my tradesecrets and cleaning mentality for what it's worth. lol

Now I'll have to kill ya.

Best of luck buddy.

I'm with you Steve. I put down alot of prespray and I let it dwell for a while. I spray then go get my hoses and my dri master and wands. I use a good rinse and make plenty of dry passes. I have been expermenting with encap punch as a rinse and it seems to work great. Of course it was my own house but the carpets looked fantastic, very soft. I have been using it on berber's and no wicking problems. Oh by the way I just purchased my first bonnets for post padding. I should recieve it today. I hope so. I have 3 demo's starting tonight. I appreciate all the good info. I do not have a problem with my current pre-spray. I was just doing some fishing to see what other guys like. take care
