i noticed it in my last hesco catalog. good idea but only going by the looks of it : looks a little cheesy / weak / light for the pressure needed to clean stairs with. stairs are about the dirtiest carpet in a home unfortuantely :\
just an observation, haven't tried it tho.
thanx --- Derek. |

The best stair scubber I've seen is a Host Machine with the handle off. I use the sprint on everything else but the stairs get scrubbed by the 35-45lb host machine!

I use my Cimex. It gets a little heavy when I have to reach up with one hand to trigger the solution. That's why I only have 2-3 gallon in the tank - to make it lighter. To get the corners that the Cimex misses I use a toothbrush.
Yeah, if you believe that then I've got an old battery powered scrubber I'll sell you - cheap.
I've tried just about everything for stairs and what works best for me is two tools - 1) a Milwaukee variable speed polisher using a 9" pad - for corners, face of step, under desks, etc., 2) a GLS with the handle off as the main cleaning tool.
Work from the bottom step so the cord is down and out of the way (most of the time - anyway - you can try putting it over your shoulder), one or two sweeps across the step and one or two from front to back continuing down the face of the step, it's done. You may need to do a little more face work with the polisher, but usually not. (If your face needs work - use the Cimex).
Now, if you're not in shape that 45 lbs may get heavy but that's also what gets the stairs clean.

I bought a motorscrubber a couple of years ago to do edges on floor strips. I was too light. Any pressure prevented the head from turning. Took it back the very next day. |

A real money maker and quick. I used the Host machine for years (with the handle off) but found it a little too light. I have been using the GLS (15") It is heavier and wider than the Host machine. I found that if you remove the brush guard on the front of the GLS (or Pilemaster) you can clean right up to the riser and also clean the lower part of the riser (where the toe of the shoe hits) I prefer to start at the top of the stairs with the cord pluged in at the bottom of the stairs. It is easier to lift going down than lift going up. I usealy do a set of 14 in under 10 minutes. A quick $35.00, of course most of you charge way more than that, LOL |
