Are you talking about cleaning out the line on the Cimex? I usually take my small air compressor and the trigger nozzle that just blows air. I then take the plastic line off right below the shut off valve and then blow air through the line while squeezing the trigger. I have also been on a job and had to clear the line in the same manner but used water off my cleaning truck.

i've used my air compressor but used it thru the 3 ports that are capped off by plastic tabs on the base. your way sounds better Kevin, but do you still remove those 3 plastic caps? or do you allow the air to blow thru the center of each pad driver?

another way i like to do it is fill up a 5 gallon bucket with hot water when i'm cleaning a carpet. as i pre-vac i'll heat the water with a bucket heater like this one : http://tinyurl.com/8jpqr> Item # 11395 $25.95 free shipping

by the time i'm done pre-vac'ing the bucket is steaming and i figure that hot water does a good job of breaking up any clogs in the solution lines.

i also was thinking of boiling some tap water (a gallon of it) and doing the same thing, but would that melt the rubber hose or any other parts Rick?

thanx --- Derek

EDIT** here's some more info for ya Rick :

Here's the link that shows how to clean out the Cimex plumbing.

This should be a part of your routine Cimex maintenance.

It will keep your Mex running like it should.
