What is the difference between these machines?

Are there circumstances where one would be more suitable than the other?

Thanks,

The Pilemaster digs in and bites just a little bit more as it scrubs and lifts the pile. The Pilemaster can also add the Collection Hoppers that you see in the video. This enables the Pilemaster to function as a pile lifter to lift the pile and collect the dry debris. The Sprint is a little less aggressive yet it does a great job scrubbing carpet too. The Sprint has an on-board sprayer. The Pilemaster has none. The Sprint has the unique ability to dry a hard surface floor as it scrubs. The Sprint is good for all the things I mentioned in the previous post below...

"Adding a Sprint to your arsenal makes sense considering the type of work you described.

Tile & Grout = PERFECT. Yes, it scrubs and picks up the water into a small recovery tray. No need for a wet-vac. It gets the floor dry enough to walk on, and it will be completely dry in a minute or two (even on bumpy textured floors). If you're using a good T&G detergent (like the one that we're having formulated right now for this very purpose) you're gonna enjoy working with this machine. This is not a powerhouse restoration machine for T&G but it does a good job of cleaning a floor in a hurry.

You said that you do a lot of smaller carpet jobs, again = PERFECT. The name Sprint sums up this machine pretty well. It's quick and nimble. Lightweight, easy to operate. It's about as challenging as running an upright vacuum cleaner. If you watched the video, you can see how simple it is to work with. It's not as aggressive as the Cimex, but it does what it's intended for really well.

So what will you use a Sprint for? It's for small to medium size encap jobs. It's for pre-scrubbing and applying pre-spray, prior to HWE. It's for cleaning and drying various hard floor surfaces. It's for carrying up stairs. I've even heard a cleaner use it to apply and work in his protector. You'll find that it's a compact multi-purpose scrubber, capable of covering a number of tasks.

The only attachments I would consider would be variations on the brushes. It comes with the "standard" brushes. These are perfect for all commercial carpets , Berber carpets, and tile & grout. There are also soft brushes for more delicate residential carpets. And there are stiff brushes for aggressive tile cleaning."

BTW, the Pilemaster is imported from Austria. One of our competitors has been selling these Austrian made machines for years. The machines have a solid track record as a strong cylindrical brush scrubber. We are purchasing these machines from the same company our competitor gets them from. And we're selling them at a very competitive price.

Each machine has different applications. They both do what they do very well. You probably should buy one of each

Pile Master Down Under

December 17 2005, 5:17 PM

Hi Blokes & Sheilas, tell me if I have this wrong.

Talking only on carpets this time.

The Pile Master in an aggressive machine that is very good for lifting the pile on carpet or even scrubbing carpet.

It does not have a solution tank, so all solution must be pre-sprayed??

It also does not have a recovery tank, although a clip-on hopper can be added.

The Sprint, on the other hand, is also good for carpet scrubbing small jobs, such as residentials and small offices, places where the Cimex may be a bit of an overkill.

The Sprint does have it's own on-board solution tank, mounted above the brushes, and, I believe, also have a small waste/collection tank.

I think the Sprint would be ideal for those smaller jobs and residentials, if we had a more environmentally friendly solution for residential work. ??

Reason I say this, is because of talk that the polymer is not friendly, in that you cannot rely on the home owner to:

(1) Vacuum the carpet thoroughly and efficiently when dry.

(2) Have an efficient vacumm cleaner capable of doing a good job.

To me the Sprint sounds good, I think it's just Delia size.

Hmmm, I could put another van on the road,..........just for her.

Look forward to your responses.

Cheers,

Shorty.
