How safe is "Release it DS" for residential

January 1 2006 at 6:21 PM
Chijoon

Hi there,

I'm planning on using the Cimex 19" to clean residential carpets and want to make sure that the chemical used is safe for young children/infants and pets.

I was thinking of using the "Release it DS" chemical. What chemical product would you suggest that I use to clean residential carpets?

Many thanks,

Chijoon Hong

Releasit chemistry is SAFE in any application. There are no toxic ingredients. In fact the only ingredient that even requires listing on the MSDS sheet is Isopropyl Alcohol.

I have used Releasit DS at my own house for two years. Even right before and after my youngest daughter was born. I have two girls 6 and 2. I started using it in my own house because I wanted to see how it would do and what happens after it dries. Well my wife says that the carpet has never looked better. It also dries in approximately the same time as it does whenever I have cleaned with my Butler.

Anyway, it is very good but all that said I still only use it on commercial applications, oriental rugs, and my own house.

Use it in my home, and also use it in the residential setting (over a year) and have not had the first complaint.

I use Releasit DS

I have asthma and one of the problems I have in the cleaning biz is the smell of cleaners and such setting off my breathing. Let me tell you Releasit products are the only ones that do not do this to me.

Also, I cleaned my dinning rm carpet with DS and my Sprinit a week before Thanksgiving and they still look great and with 3 kids, a weinner dog and a messy wife it's a wonder they stayed clean as long as they have..

Any "Black Sock" Syndrome?

January 2 2006, 2:48 PM

WOW, all you guys encap your own home's. it's been posted on ICS that your socks will turn black. apparently this isn't the case in your situation fellas?

haven't used it in my own home yet so i'm curious to know if it's something that happens to others or it's just a phenomenon that some have seen and is attributable to a poor pre or post vac job.?. i'm guessing the latter.

thanx --- Derek.

That was posted by the naysayers Derek.
You don't believe everything they say do you?
Need I say more?

My socks

The only reason that my socks are black is my wife does not use bleech when she does the wash.

As for the Releasit, no black socks here.

I wear white socks at both my homes (that are both cleaned with Releasit) and I have yet to see black socks. Maybe I need to cut back on the Martinis, LOL. Bet you heard that on the "blue board"

i just wanted to point out

i mention it because it's good to hear that it isn't the norm...as i said, seems more like a vac issue to me. only seen one person post about it and never seen ppl post how it doesn't happen to them.

now we all have

thanx --- Derek.

Maybe I'm doing somthing wrong then. I use Releasit DS at my place with a rotary (Twice) and my socks did turn black from both those time I cleaned. Steps I took : Vacuum, Prespray, and used the rotary with Fiber plus pad, and vacuumed again. Socks didnt turn super black...BUt it was fairly "soiled". What am I doing wrong??? And what are the steps that you guys take for residential??

Black Socks

Thang I also have used Releasit in my home with no "black sock" problems. Did you let it dry completely before walking on it or doing the post vac? In some of my commercial accounts I have had to do some stain removal after cleaning and it will turn a rag "greyish" before it drys. But if you let it dry completly and do a post vac than I don't believe you will see any problems. At least I haven't.

I've tested DS and love it!

January 3 2006, 10:00 AM

Personally I've done my own home with DS several times but I did read one post mentioning the "sock" problem as mentioned.

Since I wanted to use DS to clean chairs in a meeting hall, I wanted to be sure this wasn't the norm.

I've tested using DS on chairs as suggested in this forum without any extraction and there is NEVER a trace left on black pants, etc. I've used it on my own furniture at home-no problem.
I've used this on my own berber carpets and even without post vac the next day (I'd let it go till my wife vacuumed later in the week) there has never been any sign of any residue in socks or clothing.

As Rick mentions above, beware of those "naysayers"

I use DS in 80% of all my residential jobs. The only time I won't is when I use my Challenger OP to extract with Punch.
Bottom line, this stuff works!
