If anyone ever keyed in on how to keep a customer it was Stan. If holding on to your customers with "thank you" note expensive? No. Is it a key to the independent's survival? Absolutely. Why? Because your customers are made to feel special in their homes. Anyone can appreciate the time and consideration it takes to do such a thing. And personal notes always get opened-- not tossed in the trash along with the 10% off coupons from other carpet cleaners. In addition, customers comment on them when they see you next, sometimes even calling just to thank you.
