Auto Scrubber?

January 26 2006 at 11:01 AM
Mark Hart

I was just talking to a friend of mine who has been trying to get me to clean the carpets in the CVS pharmacies while he does the floors. I've been resisting because of the usual MMM low rate.
Anyway, he says the other night he wound up using his autoscrubber in a emergency with an extraction solution and it came out fine. I'd never thought of using an autoscrubber to clean carpets. I couldn't think of a reason why it wouldn't work with encap as long as he didn't use too much pad pressure. What do you think.

Crossed my mind

I've been handling autoscrubbers for over 25 years and the thought had crossed my mind. Problems may occur with pad motors overheating, weight of autoscrubber may become a factor, maneuvering, detailing ability, and possible battery concerns.

George made some good observations there. I wouldn't have thought of those possible problems.

The Carpet Avenger would be my first choice for those stores. FAST!

I have tried it for applying prespray, and the weight mixed with the wheels makes it streaky, plus if it is a dual pad machine, they dont quiet have the same head pressure int he middle of the pad as they do the out sides....to hard to get correct pad pressure as well..
