Drill Driver Problems

Just bought a chair today, by accident of course. I was encaping a synthetic fiber chair and the edge of the driver hit the fiber, and BAM! the fibers melted. This of course happened in the front of the chair, where everyone could see it. What do I do to cover the edges of the driver? It seems quite difficult to avoid hitting the sides on the fabric, and you really cant use your other hand to stretch it out flat and even. This ever happen to anyone else?

yes, the edge of an FP pad on a drill-driver caused some pile distortion on a small area, on a couple chairs before i noticed it. once you've done it and are aware of it, you learn to be careful and slow down some. for those who haven't done it, be mindful.

thanx --- Derek.

Just applied fabric protectant on $400 ea chairs. I'd hate to buy one of those.
Thanks for the tip.

You guys are using drill drivers for residential upholstery? You are brave souls.

I like to use the Rota Brush for upholstery (especially residential upholstery).

The Drill Driver with the FiberPlus pads could be used on sturdier commercial upholstery.

Or you couuld use the Drill Driver with the 8" Bonnets for upholstery since they're very soft.

Bottom line: Be cautious with upholstery. It can be pretty delicate.
