Cimex ramp for van

Does anyone have a source on ramps for a standard exstended van to load and unload 2 cimex machines. If so any problems with using them such as ease of use or space to store them on the van etc? I do have employees so liability is an issue.

Thanks in advance.

Do a search on this board for ramps. On July 11, 2005 there was a discussion on the subject.

We use a 2'X 6'piece of 3/4" plywood, anything less than 3/4" will not work and be sure to paint it with skid proof paint on one side. We do not have any brackets on it. after loading, just lay it on the floof of the van, we have two 3/4 ton GMC vans, so one sheet worked for both vans. you could make it longer but I found it was not necessary. Also you can pull along side the curb to load/unload as that will decrease the angle and make it easier. $10.00 each van, cheap fix.

These kits are great. But DO buy the optional non-skid pads. Good Luck

non-skid strips for a ramp (VERY important when the ramp gets wet [rain/snow]). so glad i bought these to put on my BaneClene ramp: http://www.handiramp.com/non-skid_safety_tread.htm

Derek, I had several ramps left over from my Bane Clene Days. They cost over $100.00 and IMHO are too short and do not store well in the van because of the side ramps. A 2'x6' 3/4" plywood piece sores flat on the foor of the van and you can park other equipment on it.

Here’s a simple approach:

You can purchase a piece of 2'x4' 3/4" pre-cut plywood at Home Depot. Attach steel brackets to the end of the board. The 4-foot ramp works great on a ½ ton van, a longer board may be needed for 3/4 or 1 ton vans.

The brackets shown here were fabricated at a welding shop for about $20. This makes an inexpensive and sturdy ramp. Just step into the van and pull it up the ramp backwards.

Here's what it looks like...

Another approach is to go with a great aluminum ramp from Link Manufacturing. I've owned two of their ramps through the years. And these babies are awesome...
