50 year old wool with some yellowing from old water damage

Have any of you had experience with encapping old wool (50 year old) installed carpet with yellowing due to water damage? it is in one traffic lane only anout 4 x 12 the rest is fine.

I realize there may be some underlying rotting since it was not professionally dried but what cautions would you suggest.


I have cleaned many wools before just not in this condition

No one lives in this house it is the custys parents house built in 1933 and I told him that I seriously doubt that the yellowing would come out and I am concerned about a weakened state of the carpet.

Good grief, everything has a life expectency, 50 years! and not dryed correctly, I would not want to see what that pad would look like. If you clean it, you better be gentle. I would want that in writing also, good luck.
