I want to add concrete polishing to my dec concrete business. I am looking to buy the Cimex CR48DF from Rick.I also need to do some prep grinding for stained concrete and removal of thin mil coatings. Has anyone used this machine in this purpose and what kind of sq ft production can you expect from a 19-24 machine. Thanks

My brother Dave has done a fair amount of Concrete polishing. His website is 1800MARBLEGUY.com. He's always happy to help. You can e-mail him at david@1800marbleguy.com. I think he can probably share some good info with you.

I’ll gladly help you out anyway I can, shoot me an Email w/ your contact info but here’s a little bit:

Coating removal is slow without the right heads, with them it shouldn’t be a big deal. Rick can hook you up with the right heads.
Actual cutting concrete with a Cimex, very fast; around 1,000 sq ft per hour in an open area.
Concrete is MUCH, MUCH easer than stone.
Work up to 220 resins wet, at that point densify and go back over it dry with 220’s and work your way up to 1,800 – all done dry.

Actually that’s it in a nut shell and it’s not to much harder than that. Rick will vouch for me – I’m not too smart. If I can do it anybody can.

Yep! As Dave's big brother, I'd tell you he's not too smart.
But if I weren't Dave's big brother, I'd have to tell you the truth

You might want to check out www.franmar.com for assistance in removing the coatings on the concrete. That company makes a line of very effective, and completely safe, stripping products based on soybeans. I've been using one version of it ("Soy-Gel") for stripping layers of polyurethane finish off of wood floors prior to applying new coats of finish. No sanding work, dust, or gouges in the wood floor.
