rust

In a apartment building I bought, it had steam radiators in. Previous owner took them out, and dumped the rust and scale out onto the carpet. I vacuumed all I could out, How should I go about the rest. It was dry when dumped, and has never been wet, just ground in from walking on it. I'd like to encap it, but don't want to set stain if it needs exstracted. BTW its a maroon commercial glue down.

thanks

Rust staining can be challenging.

I'd suggest using a Pile Lifter before doing anything (the Pile Master would work great for this).
Get out as much dry residue as you can first.

Then I'd clean with Releasit mixed 50% stronger than normal.
If it's just light surface stuff, it should clean up reasonably well.

UNDER-PROMISE!
In fact I'd promise disappointment.
It would be wise to even have them sign a disclaimer.
And then whatever you can do to improve their carpet will be extremely appreciated.
