Fiber plus pad life

How long are your Beighe Fiber plus pads lasting? Mine seem to be wearing out faster for some reason. I seem to only be able to get about 3000 sqft out of them before they wear out. I use to get about 9000. Just curious as I think it may be due to the type of carpet I've run into lately. And also I must say I was blown away by the difference in cleaning using the Grey pads for the first time. Excellent results on a trashed Gym. Cleaned it three times before and never heard feedback good or bad(from district manager). Cleaned this last time with the grey pads and got an email stating what a great job I did and that it looked better than ever!

I have been seeing the same thing, I think they are softer then before. I go through more of them and I am cleaning the same carpet.

Just opened a new box and they do feel softer than before. Almost like they are less dense.

I just opened a box out of our current stock and the density seemed plump and up to par. They actually look perfect. So at least the ones we have in our current batch are standard quality.

There are a few variables that can affect how long a pad lasts...

1. Carpet construction: Different types of carpet fiber and different types of carpet construction will impact pad life. For instance, an olefin loop will wear the pads down much faster than a nylon cut pile.

2. Speed of operation: The pad life will vary depending on how fast you are cleaning. For instance, if I move the machine very slowly and clean only 1,000 sq ft per hour, my pads will only clean about 3,000-4,000 sq ft. On the other hand, if I can clean at a rate of 2,000 sq ft per hour, my pads will clean about 6,000-8,000 sq ft. Ultimately it comes down to scrubbing TIME on the pads.

3. Cimex plumbing: If the plumbing on the Cimex has gotten plugged, faster pad wear will occur. If the lines are getting plugged, the juice will be dispensed unevenly which cause uneven wear on the pads. So make sure that you clean out the plumbing frequently - it only takes a few minutes.

4. Manufacturing variables: And there are some variables in pad manufacturing. I've talked to our manufacturer about the variables and they tell me there is nothing that can be done to eliminate that. In fact, we've even tried using different manufacturers for our FiberPlus pads and the results are pretty much the same. This is just part of the manufacturing. However we've found that the variations in the pads is relatively minimal so it doesn't really affect the pad life very much at all. More than likely, it's being caused by one of the other factors mentioned above.

Bottom Line: If you have pads that are not performing properly we will stand behind them. Please just return them so we can get credit from the manufacturer. And we will be happy to refund you 110% of your purchase price. Your satisfaction is what matters most to us.

I hope this answers your questions. If you need help let me know. Just call.

Only thing I've noticed is in one of the boxes, one side of the pads had a harder layer on it. I just made sure all 3 had the same side down.

You're right Brian, there is a difference between each side of the pad.
I normally put the firm side down toward the carpet.

Rick, thanks for the reply! I think it mostly has to do with the type of carpet I was cleaning and the level of soil that it had. Your 1000sqft per hour example goes right along with my wearing pads out at 3000 sqft. This was a dirty Dr's office with some tight spaces so I did tend to go over areas more than once. I have a 6000sqft gym tonight that has 3 month old carpet. I will have a much better read on pad life tonight as this is not a restorative type cleaning. I had just happened to open a new box last night so that is why I questioned. Probrably all in my head. lol. Also for those who have yet to try the Grey pads they rock!

I used the grey pads on a 15000 sq ft place I clean and it cut my time to clean it by a third plus looked great. This place has a lot of spots, etc.
Your right Tracy they rock.
