Got a BIG one to do todayMarch 18 2006 at 7:16 AM | Rick Gelinas |
| I get on the truck less these days because we have a few good techs that cover most of the jobs. But none of our regular techs were available for a really big job that had to be scheduled for this morning. So Nancy and I and one tech are heading off to do it. It's about 35,000 sq ft of olefin loop glue down with medium to heavy soil conditions. I'm honestly looking forward to it! I still LOVE commercial carpet cleaning.

Rick, it's good to see you can get out there
with the rest of us. One might say you
can't run a successful business if you have
never done the actual work. Have a great day
and enjoy..

Multiple Cimexes, Avenger?
Just curious since you have every weapon possible in your arsenal.
Also out of curiosity do you guys own any Hot Water Extraction equipment at all?

This is one reason that is holding me back from growing larger. I actually enjoy doing the work. It has been hard for me to let go and let my helper learn the cimex. Everytime he starts to use it I end up taking it away and making him go fill up more water. lol. |

The job went great!
Me at work...
Yep Ralph, I still get out there. Not as much as I used to. I used to clean several thousand sq ft of carpet per week. But I still get the chance sometimes - like today. And I still enjoy it as much as I ever did too.
Del, we had two Cimex machines on this one. Odd that you should ask about HWE ... the building management wanted some areas cleaned with HWE. So we used the Cimex and did some HWE in certain areas. We have a number of HWE extractors and the Steamin Demon too. But we seldom do HWE on commercial glue down because it almost always makes a mess out of it, especially when it's as soiled as this one was.
Rick, I wasn't too sore when we got done. Tired, but not too sore. What was more painful was going shopping with Nancy on the way home. LOL

Yes those are the gray pads.
It was a DIRTY one.
Cleaned up pretty good though.
The building manager was extremely happy.

We were using Bridgepoint's juice, what do you think? LOL
We were using Encap-Clean DS (mixed at 4 oz per gal of hot water) and the FiberPlus Max pads. There was no pre-spraying, just additional dry passes with the Cimex in the trashed traffic lanes like you see in the picture.

nice work Rick. good to see you still out in the field.
so were there alot of paint drips? looks like they just painted. i despise sloppy painters but i really do hate it when painters make a mess then the client expects us to spend (on some jobs) hours to remove paint drips...i refuse to do it.
thanx --- Derek.

After months of not being able to post on this site, I was able to log in today. I think it was mention of using Bridgepoint's Encapuclean that got me in.
