| Anybody know the size of the solution tube? I wanted to get an extra for an easy tank dumper, instead of trying to angle a bucket under the fitting for those pesky 1/4 - 1/2 gallons left after cleaning?
Thanks,

What kind of a machine are you talking about? Cimex? If it is a Cimex, why drain it. I leave up to a gallon in mine all of the time. Next job, just add new hot solution and go cleaning. I leave my fiber plus pads on the machine in the cleaning position in my van as I have for 2 years now, no problem. |

Yes a Cimes- sorry.
What is the longest you have let it sit for Ray? Most of my business is still residential so it may sit for several days to a week. I recall Rick saying somewhere to drain your Cimex if will be more then a day or two.
And yes I'd rather run the Cimex more often then my Olympus portable- just not there quite yet.

Yes, drain your Cimex if it will be more then a day or two.
It's also a good idea to purge the lines and run some fresh water through the machine if it's going to sit for a while. It helps to keep the lines fresh and clean.

| So what size is the tube? | March 27 2006, 10:01 PM |
So back to the orginal question- what size (diameter) is the solution tube, so I can get a "drainer" hose?

Del,
All you have to do is remove the hose from where it goes into the head of the Cimex and drain it into a bucket...works great! |

In answer to your question 7/16". Rick sells the one for the Cimex. Also, you can get a heavier one at Ace Hardware. They sell it by the foot. I have another question. Where is the rule that says you can't use a Cimex in residential cleaning. I've been doing it for almost 20 years. One thing I've learned is when the homeowner sees a Cimex scrubbing their carpet, that is what they want from then on. Just get the brushes for cut pile carpet, if you so choose. |

| Solution tube crimping | March 28 2006, 2:53 AM |
We have a hassel with the tube staying crimped when we pull up on the handle. Hose will not let solution out one time then the next time we pull on it solution flows freely. We have it in the shop right now to put a spring loaded valve on instead of the pinch style.
Anyone else have this problem? If so how did you fix it?

Fred if the soft solution hose is staying crimped it means the machine has sat idle for a while. Two ways to correct that condition:
1. Simply pinch the tube with your fingers and work the rubber a bit to get it unstuck.
2. Use the machine more frequently so that you can make more GRAVY money with your Cimex, and your tube won't have a chance to get stuck

I like that...GRAVY will keep the tube lubricated. |

I have that problem with my 15" machine that does not get used as much. I simply move the hose about an inch allowing it to be pinched in another location each time we use it. |

I slide the hose an inch or two once in a while, so It doesnt pinch it in the same spot all the time. opens up better.
