Whittaker ....What is it????

Rick,

Maybe you can answer this for me. I just did a demo for a potential customer. This is a hugh assistant living property.
I would say around 30,000 sq ft. They have the carpets cleaned once per year by a professional and the rest of the time the carpets are cleaned with the Whittaker system?? I am not familar with this system. The property manager told
me he pre-sprays the carpet and then uses the Whittaker scrubber to clean about once a month.

What is he spraying on the carpets and scrubbing? He told me that all the stains usually wick back on him. How would this wick back on him from a LOMAC system. My guess was that their
is some kinded of residue being left on the carpet and this is causing the restaining problem.

I am meeting with all of the board members on Thurs for another Demo. The property manager could not believe how clean I got a section of carpet in the dining room. He wanted to wait until Thursday because he wants to see if the stains I got out to come back. I would like any info you can give me about the Whittaker method so I'll be ready for this Demo. This is my biggest yet. Thanks

Ralph

P.S I cleaned one of the apartments with DS. A cut pile with alot of stains. They were going to replace it..Not anymore

Ralph,

What they're calling the "Whittaker machine" is the Whittaker GLS LOMAC machine. It's the same machine we sell as the PileMaster. It's a decent machine; I wouldn't sell it, if it wasn't.

My guess is that the cleaner they're using is not doing an adequate job. It can be difficult to spray down an adequate and even flow of the encapsulation detergent using a spray type application. However if you can run the detergent through a solution tank (like with the Cimex) it's easier to get consistent detergent flow to the fiber and thereby produce better results. And there's also a clear difference between the different encap detergents on the market today.

When it comes to the scrubbing action, the Cimex has been seen by many as a superior encap machine on account of its planetary scrubbing action. But regardless of the machine you're using, if you will go in and do the job right I'm sure you can impress them. Well performed encap cleaning is nothing short of impressive! So go gettem

The GLS machine has been around for many years, their chemical "Crystal Dry" is an encapsulation product so I can't understand why this guy is getting wickback. If that's what he's using. Good luck on getting the job.
