I thought it was one of my best days!!

Today I was out in the Sun cleaning a white couch, loveseat and a over sized chair. I was using HWE and my dri master. All of these pieces really cleaned up nice. I thought it looked great. The problem is that two of the cushions and one of the arms have small stains on them. This guy's cockatoo deficated on the cushions and arms. It cleaned up somewhat but, It is still stained in these area's. The customer..Who I have done work for before said he will probably throw the couch out if I can't remove the stains.

After I cleaned his furniture I encapped his whole office and the carpets looked great. This was a $500 dollar job. I clean his office 2-3 times per year..easy job.

My question is does any one have any ideas to remove these stains. I was thinking about using a bleach and water solution. 4 to 1. He swears that they didn't put any spotting agents on it but I don't believe that. It's a cotton, poly mix..mostly poly... any help would be appreciated

Before you use bleach, IMHO you should do a little more investigating. What fabric is the couch? What does the bird eat? This may give you an idea of what is in the stain. Will hydrogen peroxide work rather than bleach? Is the stain in the padding under the fabric? Too many unanswered questions.

In my opion and experience I would use Bac out first becuase it is a protien stain. If that doesnt work after a good dwell time then call CTI pro choiceand ask the about one of their produts. I have had good experience with them.

Try this product. It's called ZERO ODOR.
I let a guy try this on his carpet after his dog made a mess on it. He sprayed some on the carpet and worked it in like I told him. Odor is gone and guy & wife happy. His son use to work for CD company and I get the odor out. This stuff will take out the odor and stain. Give it a try.

It works on diaper pails, musty smells, cigarette smoke, garbage ,SHOES. Anything that smells and doesn't leave it's own odor behind.

Don't put chlorine bleach on cotton

Any type of bleach will damage cotton. A strong (4 -1) mix of chlorine bleach will make a weak spot in a cotton fabric. If bleach is necessary, hydrogen peroxide is safer.

I agree with the post stating that the staining material may have penetrated beneath the fabric. IT could wick back. Thorough flushing may help. An enzyme digestor could also help.

I would not use bleach of any strength on carpet or upholstery, too much risk of damage that you will be responsible for!
