Anyone Encap'ing with a 50/50 Mix of EncapClean & Punch

Derek

ok, i admit i'm a tinkerer of cleaning solutions. while i may be happy with a product like EncapClean, i am always looking to try other products and or mixtures of products for some "secret sauce that works miracles! maybe it's the ADD in me, who knows. or maybe i am unwittingly following in Mark Stanley's shoes

anyways, Rick Lord's post below got me thinking about mixing EC-DS and Punch at a 50/50 ratio. anyone else doing this? Rick G., do you think Punch is a good Boosting agent for something like this? to use on those dirtier carpets? or will micing them at a 50/50 ratio muck-up the cleaning capacity of EC-DS.

forgive me if you've discussed this before, i know i ask alotta strange questions at times. like i learnt earlier tonite, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask

thanx --- Derek.

Derek,

I tried mixing them before and we did not notice any improvement. So this led me to the thought that if this would make a carpet cleaner by mixing the two then Rick would have already done it. So since we can't tell any difference then we just stick to the EC-DS.

Just my 2 cents.

mixing

Derek,

For trashed carpet I never mix my chems. I have presprayed
with punch and then cleaned with ds. I make extra dry passes after a wet pass. Then If I am really ambitious I pad cap with Rick's bonnets.

mixing chem's

I don't mix chemicals, if I cannot get good results with any given one, I try a different one. Funny story; I walked by an employee who was spraybuffing a tile floor. I noticed the spraybuff looked funny so I asked him what was in the bottle. He says, half spraybuff and half neutral cleaner. I asked him why he mixed them. He said he mixed them so he would not have to mop the floor because the neutral cleaner was in there! OK, another Einstein!

lol, that's a good one g

good point Kevin.

Ralph, while i've yet to try pre-spraying with Punch, like you do i make the extra dry passes and will toss the bonnets on (which make a HUGE difference on stubborn spots & traffic lanes).

thanx for the replies fellas! --- Derek.

Hi Derek.

Here's a trick I learned from an Aussie intructor years ago.

When dealing with a trashed carpet, prespray with one type and follow up with another type of cleaner.

Now Rick will probably want you to use two of his cleaners but in the HWE field that I'm in (but progressing towards encapping), I find its better to use two different brands. I use a couple of Australaisian manufaactered [product otherwise I would give you some names. (in the HWE field as examples)

Like has been mentioned about the prespray Punch and follow with DS try that and see how it goes.
