Our new Spotter program

April 25 2006 at 6:48 AM

Rick Gelinas

The new Spotter program (for leaving spot cleaner with your customers) is just about ready to take off. The label design looks AWESOME, and the detergent formulation is fantastic! We should have this fully ready to fly in the next couple of days. You're gonna LOVE it

Our new Spotter program

April 25 2006, 5:23 PM

Is there going to be a place on the front of the bottle for imprinting company name & number?

Rambo

I ain't leaving nothing that....

April 25 2006, 8:49 PM

they ain't paying for. I have been selling spotter to my customers for over 19 years now. My local Publix dosen't give their spotter away either. If they don't pay for it, there is little value to it IMHO

Here's a PDF file of what the label looks like

April 25 2006, 8:51 PM

Here's what the labels look like...

http://www.excellent-supply.com/spotter_label_options.pdf

The printing on the label looks SUPER SHARP & BRIGHT

We'll include your phone number automatically on the labels. You'll then be able to have your logo imprinted in full color, or you can have your company name typed into the lower panel.

And the Spot-Vanish formula is based on Encap-Spot so it's a proven WINNER.

These are going to be PINT BOTTLES [16 ounce] with a squirt top (no little 8 ounce weasel bottles here).

We'll have the pricing and all the final details worked out by the end of the week. I think you're gonna be thrilled with these baby's. It's the best looking spotter bottle I've seen anywhere. And the spotter inside the bottles is outstanding too.

Different than encap spot?

April 25 2006, 10:06 PM

Is this different than the Encap Spot Remover you currently sell?

Rick, you know I love your products,
but that tulip is hideous.

The rest of the label looks great,
but that tulip looks like my 2 year
old niece drew it...it just looks ...out of place,
like it doesn't belong. Just one opinion :p

But glad to see your innovation is continuing

Take care,
Ken

The label artwork

April 26 2006, 7:38 AM

I figured that the primary target for this product is women, not men, so we made a label that appeals to women. You manly carpet cleaners don't count. LOL

Here's what we did...
We tried a number of different art pieces before we decided on the pink tulip. I tried a bunch of different color variations and different flowers on the label. Each label was run by the 4 women that work in our office. The women all wanted some PINK added to the label.

After a whole bunch of variations, the overwhelming favorite with the women is the label that you're looking at here. Women LOVE this label, and when you see how good it looks in real life, I think you're gonna flip over it too.

BTW the tulip looks a lot better, in fact the whole label looks a lot better, in NON PDF format. The PDF format you're looking at here makes it look a little chunky. I can assure you it looks killer in real life. When you see the entire label wrapped around the bottle it looks great.

I'll post a photo of a labeled bottle later today so that you can see how it looks.

Nice work Rick!

April 26 2006, 11:51 AM

Rick,

Nice work with the logo...We have to consider the marketing aspect, and I do believe that this will appeal to the larger group of mothers and homemakers, who usually see those nasty stains first. I know that my wife will like the logo, and from a man's perspective it looks fresh, and yet professional. We can't wait to try it, and we like the idea of having our company phone number on the bottle.

Good work!

Jo

I didn't get a chance to post a picture of the bottle today. Sorry. It was busier than any sane person could imagine today. I'll try to get a photo posted tomorrow. Thanks for all the positive comments. I'm glad to hear that you guys like it

Re: Nice work Rick!

We're expecting to be fully up and running with the new program by the beginning of next week. Go ahead and send your logo file via e-mail and we'll load it into the template for your labels. The image size for your logo should be 255x120px or smaller in tiff, gif or jpg format. It looks like the price is going to be $63.75 for 15 [16 ounce pint bottles] (with free shipping). That works out to $4.25 per bottle for a spotter with a customized full color label with glossy ink, along with the Encap-Spot formulation, and no charge for shipping. There will be a 2 case minimum order. Our costs for everything associated with this are high (bottles, flip caps, labels, printing, detergent, boxes, labor, and shipping) so we're trimming it down to bare bones to offer these at this price. This is not a cheap product to produce - it's TOP NOTCH all the way. And I think you're gonna like it a lot

Way too much money Ricky...

Most cleaners only want to give away .99 eight ounce bottles.

Re: Nice work Rick!

April 28 2006, 10:37 AM

.99 --- Let's do the math Mike.

The bottle & cap alone costs .65 (and that's wholesale). The box costs .20 each (wholesale).
The shipping cost averages .80 per bottle (and we get excellent rates)

Add good detergent (ENCAP-SPOT is seriously good juice and it ain't cheap to make).
Add a label. And add the labor of putting it all together.

In the end, this is the LEAST PROFITABLE product we sell!
This is a service for our customers, it's NOT a money maker.

And since we are offering something that has real value I think it's worth every penny and more. It's kind of like your Vortex, when you want the VERY BEST package to offer your customers, there isn't anything else.
