New Cimex

April 26 2006 at 8:31 PM
rlord

I just finished a 2 day Upholstery Cleaning course at Jon Don and they had a new Cimex in the next room. THEY CHANGED THE CORD! It is a yellow lighter weight cord. Certainly looks a lot flimsier but easier to manage. Rick what do you think?

I don't really care for the new cord. I liked the old cord better, which wasn't perfect by any stretch either. I will say, the new cord carries the higher safety rating for the Canadian market. And it has the same voltage rating, even though it's lighter than the original. So I guess it's OK.

You mentioned JonDon. The addition of JonDon as a distributor is now making it possible for folks to take advantage of the lowest prices available anywhere on a new Cimex package from Excellent Supply. When JonDon signed on with Cimex they made their debut by featuring an ad for a really low price on the Cimex. We've therefore responded by putting measures in place to beat their price, or anybody else's price for that matter. So if you need a Cimex give us a call and you will get the best price guaranteed. We created this niche, therefore we'll do our level best to provide every single customer with great service, helpful information, and the best price too. Being smaller has its advantages

Shorty

Cables and size.

April 27 2006, 1:42 AM

Not my Cimex, but something else.

I recently took delivery of a new Rugbadger.

I would venture to say that this has the same size cable that you are talking about.

I do all my own test and tag of my electrical equipment.

I had to replace the (three) pin plug onto the Rugbadger and was very surprised at the thin-ness of the outer sheathing.

What was even more surprising was the size of the inner wiring.

These are a lot heavier than wire we use for our normal voltage.

Normaly, we run 10amp cable, I would say these are equivalent to 15amps.

This in itself does not concern me, as it means less heat in a longer cable due to the heavier wiring.

What does concern me, is the outer sheathing.

I feel that over time, the cable will more easily become twisted, resulting in premature replacement of these cables.

I may be wrong............again.

Cheers,

Shorty.

Rick it is a shame what JOn Don has done to lots of lines.

I am suprised that you have dropped to their level on the pricing unless
they were cutting deep into your pocket.

You have something they do not have CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
along with the knowlege of the ins and outs of the machine as well as
the day to day challanges, of running a commerical operation.

All this knowledge, expertise, and chemical development cost $$$$
I would thing people would come to you and pay a little more because they know with your company they are getting a great product great service and expert help when needed.

The black sticky cord that won't slide along anything isn't very neet. I've thought about changing it myself to one thats slicker.

Jon-Don is a "Me-Too" copycat and has lost me as a customer.
