I am thinking of getting one for my war chest and want to know what type and are they worth the cost and will I use it that offten.

The prices I have got so far ar about 1400 to 2400 $$

From a mytee to an eclipse.

I am looking at a powrflite model:

for a serious portable i would consider the Eclipse (has heat as an option) or a Recoil 3HP.

personally i am looking at getting a spotting machine. not sure if i want heat yet or not. i will use it on upholstery in homes and for some flushing. i want 100 psi and one 3-stage vac. the Kleenrite Sphere or the Rexx : http://cleanmaster.com/showroom/portable_cleaning_system/rexxfeatures.shtml

they are larger than most other spotters so i don't have to dump and refill as often. but they are a little heavier than i was looking for

thanx --- Derek.

I have the recoil 3 with a little giant propane heater 40 gals tanks and 200' of hose. I rin it from the trailor instead of a wand I use a drimaster and couldn't be happier. My customers rave about the results. So that's what I recommend. But good luck.
Couple the above with the Cimex and CHA CHING!!

Joe,

I have a portable with two power chords. Each chord has to be plugged into a seperate circuit. I hate my extractor and rarely use it (even though it performs well) because positioning the extractor to work around the chords consumes more energy than cleaning the carpet....Cleaning carpet is fun. Moving an extractor around isn't. It's even a pain to clean upholstery with!

That said, I was thinking about using a small walk behind to use where an extraction step may be necessary. One that interests me as a complement to the encap process is the small Powr-Flite PFX3S. I would use it as more of a post-vac. The best feature....it's only 50 lbs.

If I were going to buy a new portable, here are the features I would want:

Pigtails....no power chords to wrap around the machine
One chord model
Heat (another chord would be required but only if you choose to use the heat)

The Powr-Flite Perfect Heat models fit my requirements, but I don't know how they perform.

P.S. I think the PFX3S is made by Truvox. You know what Truvox makes....
