Derek

hotel has some new carpet and a new piece of furniture was placed on it. according to the hotel GM, the stain wasn't "set" and transferred to the new carpet. i haven't seen it yet myself so i do not know anything else.

how would you remove it?

he said if he has me do it, the furniture company would be paying me. should i run from that method of payment?

thanx --- D.

If the GM hires you he is responsible for payment. I doubt the furniture company is going to pay anything. Any furniture can leave a mark when the carpet has been wet or in high humidity areas of the country. My policy is "whoever hires me, pays me". They in turn can submit the bill to whoever they like. Ran into this problem years ago with a proprty manager. She indicated the tenant was going to pay. NOT! From that day forward "Who ever hires me, pays me"

As far as the stain is concerned it could be just rust. Yes rubbing a towel over it will produce a transfer. Some stains from the bottum of the legs will do this also. Rust can be removed with your favorite juice. In pinch you can even use lemon juice. If furniture stain, try a pog, or even rubbing alcohol. If that does not work stain magic. Rinse area.
