Hi All,

Could someone explain the best way to clean upholstery encap style. Is extraction required?

Thanks,

Bri

FOR COMMERCIAL UPHOLSTERY:
Use the Drill Driver with 8" FiberPlus pads or 8" bonnets

FOR RESIDENTIAL UPHOLSTERY:
Use the Drill Driver with 8" bonnets

Or you can use the soft Rota-Brush

CLEANINNG PROCESS:
If the upholstery is heavily soiled --- Pre-Spray with Encap-Punch.

Then scrub the upholstery with Encap-Clean using the appropriate attachment (as shown above).

That's all there is to it. Most folks skip the post-vac process.
And the upholstery will usually turn out excellent with this simple approach.

NOTE
Make certain that the upholstery can be "wet cleaned" before you clean it.
For a LOWER MOISTURE alternative, you can also spray the upholstery with Releasit and then towel or sponge it off gently. Hand cleaning like this can be a good approach for more sensitive pieces. Gary Heacock is the MASTER in this department - you might want to pick his brain a little.

Get a decent drill with a side handle attachment and you're good to go.

Being down under.......................I'm different :-) :-) :-)

I still prefer to use my very aged VS-2 Von Schrader upholstery foamer.

Sure, it's heavy and awkward, but I like the idea of the foam coming out the head and no fine particles floating in the air to be ingested.

That's only my opinion, what brought this about was one time when I was working below decks on a survey boat and my VS-2 packed a wobbly, (broke down).

I used a pump-up sprayer with another encap product, along with my car burnisher.

Couple of hundred yards and several boats to cross over to get back to the van, and I only had a few mattresses left to clean, so dummy left his respirator in the van.

NEVER AGAIN.................... I ended up with a terrific migraine, and lost a couple of days work after that.

Nearly left some techni-colo(u)red yawns on that boat, and also the others, due to the inhalation of that product.

So, from now on, if I do pre-spray upholstery, the respirator is always worn.

Just my tuppence worth.

Cheers,

Shorty.

I know what you are saying Shorty. I have gone to using my Esprit more often on furniture. Less headaches. My customers perception is that I am doing a deep scrub on the old sofa when they see all that foam, counter rotating heads and the extraction of the soil via the vac. They love it.
