OP and Scrubbing Pads

May 13 2006 at 11:59 AM
Joe Gilstrap

I am going to be doing a small commercial job soon and I won't have the Cimex at this location. This carpet is filthy and will have to be pre-scrubbed, hot water extracted and probably post bonnett. Since the regular fiber pads probably won't be aggressive enough I was wondering if it would be OK to use a red floor pad. My main concern is whether or not the red pad will bleed on the carpet. Appreciate any info.

I don't know if the red pad will be but what I can tell is to put a cotton pad between the red pad and the carpet to really absorb as much soil as possible.

Red pads can bleed, depending on the quality of the pad. You don't state what kind of machine you are going to scrub with. Assuming it is a regular swing machine, Rick has the grey Max pads in different sizes. These are much more aggressive than the beige Plus pads.

Hold the phone. Red pads can do a color transfer of red to the carpet.

But guess what??? We now have FiberPlus Max pads in 15" 17" and 19" sizes.

So you can now benefit from extra agitation on your OP or rotary machines too.

Thanks for the info guys. Hey Rick, glad to hear about the larger Max pads. I will place my order soon. P.S. When are you gonna put them on your product page?

Only use a red pad it you have if it has been used before.

IF you do not get Ricks product then I would use a beige pad or a ice blue
