Carpet cleaning classes

May 14 2006 at 3:39 PM
Matt

I was wondering where to look for some good cleaning classes. There is so much to know out there about different types of carpet, etc. I feel like a fool sometimes presenting my self as a professional when im not even sure what a customers carpet is made out of!! I know different types of carpet require different procedures to clean properly, but a class I took with Servpro several years back didnt quite live up to my expectations. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I know what you mean about them not living up to your expectations. I attended a class at Jon Don that was good and took IICRC Certification test after. I use the fact that I'm Certified in all my marketing stuff. But I would recommend the IICRC course you might get on there website and see who else offers it if Jon Don isn't close to you.

If you can't find a good local course you might want to consider purchasing this book from the ol' guru himself Bob Wittkamp.

Carpet Cleaning Tech's Book by Bob Wittkamp:

It will teach you everything you're ever likely to wonder about carpet and/or carpet cleaning. It's a must have for a carpet cleaning professional. It will sharpen up your knowledge base in a hurry.

Help

May 15 2006, 10:55 AM

First of all, how do you post a new topic on this board?

Here is my main question..........I just completed a 20k sq ft office building using fiber pads with my cimex for the first time (I usually use the medium brushes). The next day I was called back due to a white residue that was everywhere. Did I use to much chemisty or could the pad be an issue? Any idea what may have caused this? Also should I redo the job using just water? It does not vacuum up. ---Please help

Thanks Rick, the main page is not formatted to my screen so the POST NEW MESSAGE was not visible on my screen. What is the difference between ENCAP CLEAN and ENCAP CLEAN DS?

Encap-Clean is our "regular strength" detergent = 8 oz per gallon.

Encap-Clean DS is our "double strength" detergent = 4 oz per gallon.
It's super economical to work with.
