Steamin Demon questions

say i run into a CGD that is over-loaded with impacted soil. i prevac as thoroughly as time permits, Cimex it with Max pads and a strong mix of E.C.-D.S., followed with Cimex Bonnets. the job looks alot better, but there is still some visible problems. might a Steamin Demon be the better machine in this situation? or is it the case that, if the Cimex can't get-er-clean, then the S.D. will be of no use either?

thanx --- Derek.

If a carpet is LOADED with soil, then flushing the carpet is an appropriate step. If you pull apart the tufts of fiber and examine the backing of the carpet and you see a DARK backing rather than white latex staring back at you, then you have a build up problem in the carpet.

The Steamin Demon is the PERFECT choice for unloading the carpet. At 2-3 gallons of water per minute it will flush a carpet better than the largest truckmount. It's a great remediation step for a carpet that's plugged full of soil. In fact this is the reason why we sell the SD machines.

After you flush the mess out of the carpet with the SD you'll likely get a lot of wicking after it dries. You can expect that to occur. So plan a follow up encap cleaning the next day to correct the wicking, and bring the carpet back to a pleasing appearance level.

This two step approach is a great way to bring a totally trashed carpet back to life. Just make sure that you explain to the client what you're planning to do. They likely are aware of the carpets poor condition already, so under-promise. And then give 'er your best shot. You'll reduce the soil build-up and the carpet will now be easier to manage. And lastly, make sure you charge accordingly for the extra service you'll be providing.

Saving for something

Good thing you haven't seen the sprint in action you'd be saving to buy one of those also!
I'm getting Rick to outfit one with a hose attachment that I can hook a hose up to and have it go just outside the door so my customers can't see how easy it is!!
Our mission is to get Rick a bigger boat it's embarrashing having our "posse" leader in such a small boat!!LOL

there is also another way to clean the carpet that is plugged up

Scrub the carpet first with the Cimex, Sprinter or Pile Master with Encap punch
then extract with the Demon. If needed then I would pad or bonnet the carpet.

Doing things that way I have rarely needed to post pad bonnet or scrub
