It really works on Floors

I had given it alot of thought about using the Cimex to strip a floor, but, I was afraid of ruining it when it was really meant for carpets.
So I got some 8 inch stripping pads and decided to work on a nasty lunchroom floor in a chemical plant (the guys that works there are pigs).

IT WORKED LIKE YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE. I let the stripper sit for 25 minutes to dwell, the job to strip the chair mark, scuff marks usually took 1 1/4 hours to scrub, with the Cimex it took 1/2 hour.
When I was done I took the time and clean it off.

So if your thinking about it, try it.

Glad to hear that you liked it I think it rocks on a strip job too!
In fact this was a topic over on the floor care board just the other day.
Here's what I posted on this subject...

Re: Cimex questions

Why a Cimex is more effective than a standard rotary swing type machine...

Reason 1:
A standard rotary machine has one pad driver turning at 175 rpm's. The Cimex has three pad drivers spinning at 400 rpm's. --- That means there are 3 times as many pad drivers spinning over twice as fast, and that amounts to a 600% increase in scrubbing power per pass.

Reason 2:
As the drive deck on the Cimex turns clockwise, the pad drivers are spinning counter-clockwise. So the the machine is actually scrubbing right and left at the same time. This provides unmatched scrubbing action. For encap cleaning it means the fiber will be scrubbed from all directions at the same time. For strip jobs it means that it won't slop the solution up the walls. It also balances the machine and makes it very safe to operate.

Reason 3:
Each of the 3 heads are attached with rubber flex-grommets. This enables the 3 cleaning heads to be completely flexible. Also the the entire motor and drive deck are attached to the fork of the machine with bearings, so the head is completely free floating. This makes it possible to scrub uneven floors perfectly. On a strip job that means no finish left in the valleys.

Reason 4:
Our 8" Lightning Strip pads for the Cimex are mean and aggressive build-up removal stripping pads. They last and last and last. And they strip like nobody's business.

Reason 5:
The 6.5 gallon solution tank makes it possible to keep the floor wet during stripping.

you wasted about ten mins as stripper has done it's job at ten mins. it really does a good job on hard floors because it weighs so much.

Ron what type/color stripping pad did you use and what type of stipper do you recommend to strip a terrazo floor. also can I use a Sears wet vac to vacumm up the slurry?

I used Spartans Emulsifier Plus, and 8 inch black stripping pads, I have a Nobles Typhoon wet vac with a nice squeegee head. If you do have a Sears it will work but not as good as the Nobles since that is what it is made to do.
Also, I learned from a Floor Care Co. and did speak with the lab techs at Spartan, if you can let stripper sit 20 to 30 minutes you will greatly cut the stripping effort in half, corners and edges still bug me though.

i've never had to wait 20 mins befor agitating a floor. you wait that long and i guarantee you have to rewet the floor with stripper, thus using more product.

i'm a graduate of the Spartan School and I sell it every day. if you want a great stripper try Spartans Endurastrip.
