Wood floors

May 31 2006 at 11:19 AM

I don't do wood floors as a part of my business. However, the frat house of which I am an alumnus needs some work, including some wood floors. The upstairs hallway has quite a bit of paint, etc. that has accrued through the years. We bought the house in the early 80s when I was still in school. It is probably at least 50 years old with the original wood flooring. Rather than pay umpteen dollars for a thorough refinish, can we doctor it up using the Cimex and maybe some Chemspec RX for wood floors? Directions please, o wise ones.

If you are going to strip off the old paint from a wood floor
you are almost or actually to the point of totally refinishing a floor in most cases.

In most cases I use a green or a black pad to scrub off the old goo.I prefer to wet sand with this pads. No dust and it leaves most of the pitina in the wood.

I will then use a red pad, next I will stain the floor using a bonnet let the floor dry put one more coat of stain if needed then put the poly down.

I use Kote products.
