cleaned a spot in a clothing store in the mall. lady spilled a full StarBucks latte on the CGD in front of the register. the spot is a few weeks old. i wasn't sure how it would come out since the coffee was fresh and HOT.
i was nervous about this job due to wick back issues. i figured the best way would be, not to use the solution tank, but to use Rick's Cimex bonnets and trigger-spray a 50/50 mix of encap directly onto the Bonnets. then set the Mex on the large spill and let'er scrub.
i then flipped the pads and continued the same process. 9 bonnets and a pre and post vac later, the carpet looked fabulous. no coffee and carpet was 99% dry (says my wife). today the store manager called back and, for once, a job worked out for me
he said he's forwarding my info to corporate...i won't hold my breath but would be great if it worked out. he said it looks fantastic.
moral of the story, don't over-wet a large (volume) problem spot like this. is what i did surface cleaning? yep to a degree. but that CGD nap was so short and the "fingers" on the Cimex Bonnets dig deep.
now the test will be if it STAYS clean. the 50/50 mix should help with that.
