Are you just goign to clean the floor?

what shape is the floor in, does it have any coating on it such as
Poly or dutch oil

putting the wrong product down on the wrong coating can be bad

I am just cleaning it, It still has a light coat of poly on it and a few scratches but otherwise is in pretty good shape. It is a wide pine floor.

Chemspec RX for floors has a cleaner that is neutral ph. if the floor is not beat up and oily this should work ok. If floor is oily put a little booster of your favorite juice to break down the oil.
I asked about wood floors a week or so ago and no one answered. I guess no one is doing wood floors. Back in the 70's when I was first starting out, if the floors were in good shape and just needed cleaning and rewaxing I would use terpintine and a green pad. That was before poly coats were being used widely.
I have a Bruce floor that is a mess from their "clean and shine" one step cleaner. It builds up and looks terrible after a few years. I am going to use the mex and some red pads to take care of that. I cleaned it with a swing machine and the RX cleaner and was not pleased with it. That is why I am going to use the mex and maybe try the old way again. I may have to poly it again. But I know it will be clean!
Actually I cleaned my living room the other afternoon after I got home with the mex. I hit a spot in my dinning area with Rick's encap juice and light colored pads just to see the mex scrub. My wife wants the whole floor looking like that one circle. Boy did I open up a can of worms there! I know I know encap juice is not ment for wood. The pads were still damp from the carpet so I gave it a shot. That mex will scrub a wood floor. Imagine what I can do with the right juice for the floor.
Lets hear more from you floor pro's, don't be shy speak up.

The floor is 350 sq ft..so not to big it is an in-law apartment with an older women living there. Their are a few scratches from the family dog living next door. The floor is in pretty good shape. I just want to clean it and possibly bring back some of the shine.
