Hey Greg,
Glad to hear you're getting the hang of it. 786 sq ft per hour is still a little slow though. But you should be able to continue to get faster, as you continue to get more comfortable. I think the biggest obstacle to pushing higher production is "uncertainty" (not being sure of how far you can safely push the system). However what we keep seeing is that the system can indeed be pushed. On a lot of accounts it's possible to pull out the stops and really crank out the square footage (even beyond 3,000 sq ft per hour on some jobs). So keep at it. I can hear the "Cha-Ching" all the way over here

It was the ofices that killed the time. I finished the big open area and halls real fast.

But that time included setup and tear down, bsing, measuring, bathroom breaks, filling out paper work.

$884.21/hour...

June 24 2006, 11:46 PM

We did a large commercial Maori College recently.

2 techs, 2 gofers, 1x genesis dual wanded, 1x Legend single wanded and 1x cimex.

9.5 running hours from pull up to pull away excluding lunch but including morning and afternoon 20min breaks.

209 single 4" thick, light cotton material covered mattresses cleaned @ $18/each, protected @ $12/each

1675m2 in numerous locations throughout the whole premesis...opps that equates to around the 18ksq foot mark.

A mix of flotex, astro turf, sol dyed nylon on pad, comm glue down olefin and a heap of comm grade wool carpet on pad.

Cimex on all nylon and olefin, all wool and flotex was done with HWE. Astro turf on all porches was sprayed, water blasted and then extracted with acid rinse.

All the wool was in places where the Cimex would've been at a disadvantage... small rooms where we already had the HWE set up for the cleaning of the 2-3 mattresses in each one. Also a couple of small offices.

One the areas where we used the 'mex, I found we were achieving 3000 square foot an hour including filling the tank all the time etc. We did have all open spaces. ei three portacom buildings of approx 1200' each and a few other areas. Admittedly it was all lightly soiled and so that made for quicker travelling. In the classrooms, it was closer to the 2000' as the soil load was heavier.

Total costs including labour for all four of us, fuel of both vans and machines, the complete charge of all chems bought for the job including the surplus left over. Also $200 bonus to my tech for his part over and above his normal wage. Total costs of less than 2k.

Total invoice of $8400 PLUS taxes of 12.5%

We do this place all the time. large complex so we're there every 3-6 months but this is the largest amount of work for them in one day.

The last time we did the mattresses we had 240 but no protection.

The prices we work for here are significantly lower than our regular pricing but as you can see it really pays well.

The profit on that job actually covered the purchase of our Cimex. 6k for a mex here so theres still a little left over for me;-)

How many of you guys are aware of the aussie BBS?
