| Anyone ever had a complaint from a commercial account where you encap, that their Rainbow sweeper foams up?
If so, what do you do?
Thanks,

We haven't heard that one before. But if it's a problem, they could simply add a little defoamer to the Rainbow vacuum. Any brand of Defoamer should work fine.

Thanks. Sent some powdered defoamer for them to try.
Guess that means the detergent is doing what its supposed to...vaccuum off!
Might have a hard time selling them on the idea of continued use of defoamer though.
(Maybe I should sell them on a different vaccum!)
thanks,

i would sell them on using a differnt vac for sure.
It would be easy to do also rainbows spew lots of dust into the air and is easy to show them what they are putting back into the place they are trying to clean.
when I was selling vacs for a living I love rainbow users it most always meant a sale |

I used a rainbow vac for a pre vac at this orthodontist...they just had it steam cleaned two weeks ago and the carpets were disgusting. Needless to say half way through my vacuuming the container was full of foam! guess they didnt do such a good job extracting all that soap they put down...Just another reason i love encap! |

I believe John stated they got foam up using the Rainbow after he had encaped?
Realize that DS is a foaming product and could when extracted cause foaming either in a extractor or a Rainbow. It is suposed to foam a little when cleaning so why wouldn't it foam later during extraction. I'll have to extract an area a week or so after encaping with DS and see what I get.
One reason people thing the rainbow is so great and gets more junk up is simple it used water to catch the grime instead of a bag. You see the grime in the water but not in the bag.
Do your self a favor after you vac with an uprite or canister, dump it all in a small amount of water and see what it looks like YUCKY. Anyone that wants to deal with cleaning out a Rainbow or any other vac that used water to catch most of the dirt partical can have at it. Personally I want the grime contained in a filter that I can dispose of with out getting dirty, having the dirt sprew back into the air or having to deal with rinsing out containers ans worry about calling the plummer. |

You sound so vicious towards the rainbow vac. It is a lot of work (I wouldnt bother using it for my home) but I have found when i do resi the female customers love to see all the wonderful pet hair and dirt i took out, regardless if it was more or less than what an upright could accomplish. As for cloggin the plumbing, I just use a spaghetti strainer (came with it).
I vac'd before i did any encaping and had lots of soapy foam build up in the tank, If the encap foams up two weeks after I laid it down, I guess its ok since it wont be attracting new soil like the traditional shapoos do. |

Matt lots of HWE cleaners leave lots of foam and grunge in the carpet that is true. They dont take the time to do the job rite for many reasons
in a hurry to get to the next place
under bid or hacking
have no clue how to properly clean.
No Rainbow did not break my heart. They help me sell lots of vacs.
I think the machine is under powered over priced, a pain to work with and people get decieved by how much it actually picks up because it uses a differnt medium to collect the debris. As long as you or anyone else who has one likes it great have at it I am glad for you, There are better products out there for the money and you could still show what you took out of the carpeting.
Clients do like seeing what comes out of the carpeting.
This is one thing I like about the Steamin Demon People get to see all the junk coming up from the carpeting into the machine.
Its like having a view window for vac hose using a TM, Porty, or when padding showing the client all the gross pads.
