I ruined 973 sq ft of Terrazzo yesterday

Well – I was asked to by the home owner – what a shame!

A home was recently purchased with terrazzo floors that were in nearly perfect condition. I mean there was literally only ONE hole/spall in the entire floor. On top of that whoever had previously restored the floors had done a fairly good job and they were still in good shape.

The deal is they are going to put down wood floors and they wanted me to abrade the surface so the adhesive would bind better. – What a shame.

Boy, talk about an easy job; no edges, no taping of walls, no lippage, no holes to fill and only one grit – I ran my 50 metals and walked out.

It still kills me they are going to ruin that floor even if the money was great.

I try to talk people into using something like luan to cover areas that may be refinishable one day.

Imagine the look on the face of the person who buys the home from them - and years later decides to rip up the wood and put down stone.......

What??!!!!!

It amazes me

WOW,I constantly get amazed at what people will do. I go through a minor simular situation in a wealthy neighborhood where there dogs urinate all over the house and they don't want to train them. But at least mine are recurring revenue!!
Cutting up that floor for wood is just plain SICK on their part!!!

Hey David,

Keep the address and when they move out, offer to restore the floor for the new owner. Get paid twice.
