Hi guys,

I was in a large furniture store a couple of weeks ago, buying of course. The carpets in this place were in rough shape. Lots of spills from customers. I spoke to the store manager and he said they have used several cleaners but the stains always came back. All the other cleaner were using portables with HWE. I sat down with him and explained Encapsulation. He was very interested. The carpet was so bad in the entrance ways that they are looking to put tile in these area's.

I told the manager that I would give him a free demo and he could see the results for himself. The trouble is...it has to be cleared through corporate. He gave me the name of the guy I need to speak to and also told me this guy is very open minded and has used alot of new contractors in his store. I have tried to get in touch with corporate to no avail. I have contacted the manager at this store and he is still very interested. What is my next step. this could be a huge account. There are 6 of these stores.

Next Step

If you have to deal with Corporate to get a job you might as well forget it. All they care is to sell their stuff. I have been to a major cell phone store and jewelry store and have to wait from Corporate. Two years later I'm still waiting. The way I demonstrate is I have an angle brush and bring a small bottle of encap solution. Find the worst area in the store and make a nice clean 3 inch wide by 6 inch long cleaning spot. It stands out and if they want it to go away they'll have to get the rest of the store cleaned.

Here's an idea:

First find out WHO is responsible at the corporate office so you know exactly who to contact.

1. Take a photo of the filthiest area.

2. Print red letters across the photo saying...
"We can improve the appearance of your store."

3. Print the photo on 8x10 photo paper.

4. Mail it to the corporate office in a priority mail envelope with a good cover letter explaining how you'd like to get together to help them fix their problems.

This should get their attention. But you may still need to follow up. I've seen instances where it took SEVERAL attempts to get the right person to respond. But as you mentioned, your efforts should be worth it since there's good potential for this account.

Hope ya get it.

imaginitive Rick! "I don't like Steam...."

Rick that's a fantastic idea!

i recently stopped into a local office for a well-known national insurance company. dropped off my marketing envelope with before and after pic's, repeatedly detailing my free demo and explaining our CC'ing history, etc...

i got fortunate, the manager of this office told me the gal to contact at corporate and gave me her number. i called her a few times and was hesitant to leave a Voice Message (VM). i don't like leaving VM's, if they aren't intersted then they will likely screen my future calls, as i always assume every business has caller ID.

anyways, i left a VM this time. called back the next day and she answered. she asked if i use "steam". i said nope i used to use HWE and while i won't knock it, i've found this new low moisture system to work the best on CGD. she said, "good, i don't like HWE". music to my ears she requested i fax her my info.

the next day we talked more and, while she hasn't scheduled a time yet for me to clean there local offices, she repeatedly stated that she is going to use me in the future and simply asked which locations i want.

1st time for me that talking to someone at corporate will likely turn into cash.

just wanted to share...never give up and don't be skeered!!!

thanx --- Derek.
