Oriental Rug Question

August 4 2006 at 3:17 PM
Bob Ledlow

Just a quick question: We have been encapping our rugs lately with the cimex and pads. My question is do you guys prefer the pads over the brushes on the rug work?? I definately use only pads on the cgd but was curious about the rugs. Your thoughts and advise are appreciated.

Thanks- Bob Ledlow

We use the Cimex on many rugs. Works great. I do not own any brushes but I would imagine that they would be softer. Some rugs will really fuzz on you with the pads. You can limit the fuzzing by keeping the pads really wet. Usually I keep the trigger pressed the whole time on rugs so the pads stay wet. This will create a bit of foam but we just aren't worried about that.

I use the cimex all the time now for my orientals. I switch to the fiber plus pads no the max and like kevin said keep em wet. I would like to some day purchase the rug badger and really clean up

What do you guys charge to (just) scrub a rug?

Do you do them in the home?
