Applying Solution / CimexAugust 7 2006 at 6:52 PM | Brian |
| Hello all,
When making a wet pass with the Cimex, do you apply solution for the whole length of the pass? Or do you squeeze the trigger every so often while making the wet pass? I just want to make sure that I dont apply too much solution, and I was wondering if anyone had advise from experience.
Thanks,

one of the great things about EncapClean is it whitens as it is applied with the 'Mex. so you can see when you are adding too much (slinging white foam everywhere) and when not enough is applied (not white foam is visible).
for me, i typically feather it. i've often thought of turning the ball valve (down under the sol tank) about half shut and then seeing how it went with me always holding the trig down. but i haven't done that yet....has anyone else tried that?
thanx --- D.
BTW, i have slung plenty of foam in my day and it never causes a problem. better to over-apply than under-apply from my experience. |

Derek, great idea.I always do things the hard way;I've been putting "something" on the handgrip to prevent a full trigger but I just never thought about the valve.Like they say;you learn something new everyday!

Derek,
Thanks for the tips. I have often wondered how to monitor the flow. I will try the feather method, and also try turning the ball valve to "half closed" to see what happens. I will give it a try tonight, and I will let you know how it went.

I always have it 1/2 to 3/4 open I've found it works best, for me, at 3/4 open. |

It all depends on the type of carpet your cleaning, type of pads you are using and the degree of soil you are dealing with. I have found out you can go faster with the lever wide open and walking fast, if it is not too soiled and you are using the fiber max pads. If it is really dirty You have to slow down and do more scrubbing and use the feathering teck-neek. Unless you are slinging solution on the baseboards, I doubt you are puting too much down. Most of the time I find my girls are not putting enough down. |

I see what you mean Rambo. It all depends on the conditions. I am using the Fiber Plus Pads and there is heavy soiling in some places. I will try the open method and the feather method followed by 2 or 3 dry passes to really get the agitation going.
Thanks everyone for your help.
