Ray is referring to "Crocking" of the dye stuff.

This is when the dye stuff is not wet cleanable, and rubs off onto a cloth as Ray has described for you.

Some people may even call this bleeding or colo(u)r migration.

Although to be technical, that assumption could also be wrong depending on the circumstances.

I say this because different terminology is used by the U.S. and Australia that may be contradictory.
