Question on commercial glue down

A friend of mine is the General manager of a hotel. He called me last night to look at the carpeting in the place which is only a year old. He claims that when the carpet was installed they were told not to walk on it for 24 hours. If they did walk on it before then they could cause the glue to come to top of the carpet fibers. Of course they walked on it right away. So now the traffic area are turning black. He thinks the glue came up through the backing into the fibers like the installer said would happen. I have done a few glue down installs back when I lived in Massachusetts. I dont see how the glue could do that. Is it possible the glue did come through the backing like that??

Huh?

After seeing millions of yards CGD I never saw glue come thru the carpet. I would think the only reason not to walk on it for 24 hrs. is seam seperation. Rarely do installers glue the edges of the seam like their supposed to anymore. I have not installed carpet in over 12 yrs now so I guess I am out of the loop.
