The new VENTO OP Machines are here!

August 9 2006 at 12:25 AM

Rick Gelinas

Check out the new VENTO OP machines.

These machines are the coolest machine I've ever laid my eyes on, and I think you'll feel the same way too.

The design is European looking and the engineering of these machines is like nothing you've ever seen.

Vento means "wind" in Italian. And that's just what these machines make you think of when you see them.

They handle very smoothly and they clean extremely well too.

The Vento is a 17" machine.

And best of all, they're priced very competitively too.

Here's what it looks like...

And here's a link with more information...

I think you're gonna fall in love with this beauty!

Pasta Vento Si ??

August 9 2006, 1:45 AM

Flamin' Italian heritage legacy................sorry

Now we truly can have that "Wind" beneath our wings feeling, eh ??

Although the brush appears to sit back under the housing, I would imagine it cleans to the edge of the housing ??

Anything can be adapted, so I would imagine a drive board for pads etc; is a stock standard item ??

Will you be supplying 220 / 240 volt Rick ??

Something else to play with at Connections, eh ??

Cheers,

Shorty.

Rick whats it come with

Brush like in the pic or is it a drive block?

Can it use the same 17 pads as the challenger.

And being it's Italian does it need a cheese and wine break around mid day?

Joe

Shorty, there will be a model for Australia. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll get the info to you.

Mike, we'll have to see about getting some shifters for it The bar ends make it super comfy to work with.

Joe, the drive brush is a driver/brush combination. I'll post a photo of it later.

It's not an Italian made machine, it simply has an Italian name that suits it well, seeing as it looks more like a Ferrari than a floor machine.

difference

August 9 2006, 12:12 PM

what is the main difference between this and the challenger? What would make someone pick one over the other? Just curious as I would like to try and enter the world of OP. I have never used much more than an small orek orbiter to op so I do not know what the fuss is about. I currently use TM for residential and Cimex for 95%of my commercial and think adding OP would fill out my tool box nicely.

very exciting Rick!

one benefit is larger diameter cleaning head...13.5" with a Challenger. the Venti would clean a larger path.

thanx --- D.

A few of the differences

August 9 2006, 2:11 PM

As Derek mentioned, the Vento is a 17" machine whereas the Challenger is a 15" machine. The motors on both machines are 3/4 hp motors so there's no real difference there. The Vento feels a bit beefier when you work with it - for example I can easily clean our office cut pile carpet with the Challenger without a glide, but the Vento requires a glide. Both machines have a similar feel with regards to vibration in the handle. The Vento adds the bar extensions for a more ergonomic feel. The Challenger's handle tube is made of chromed steel, whereas the Vento's handle tube is made from aluminum. The Challenger is made from rolled steel, the Vento is made from casted aluminum. So the Vento is an all aluminum machine. The bumper surrounding the Vento is tougher than the one on the Challenger. The switch on the Vento is nicer than the switch on the Challenger. The build and finish of the Vento is over the top! The Vento has a triple coating of powder coat paint. And last but not least, the Challenger's appearance is perfectly fine, but the Vento's molded construction is absolutely gorgeous. Both are great machines, like anything it just comes down to what you'd prefer to work with.

Rick,
can you use 19" cotton pads with this driver/brush combo?

Thanks,
Steve

more questions...

August 9 2006, 3:12 PM

Steve, i believe you can use any pad size that is larger than 17"...but wait for Rick to answer.

Rick, what is the weight on the Vento? does it have larger "orbits" than the Challenger? if it needs to be worked with a glide, it's obviously more aggressive. is this because it's heavier or because of something else? just wondering.

thanx --- Derek.

The 19" pads/bonnets are perfect on this machine. You could also use 20" pads too.
If you're using FiberPlus pads I'd recommend going with 17" pads.
