| Can this product be applied after using dry compound cleaning such as HOST? Being im having a hard time getting a striaght answer about encapping residential on any carpet cleaning board im figuring on going the dry compound way, my main complaint about this method is not being able to remove all the sponges once dry, i thought encapping would be better using a dual brush machine, also pile lifing reall helps in residential. Look if any of you do encap residential please contact me via email if your more comfortable with that and let me know how you are doing, like pre vac/scrub it in ald leave it for the coustomer to vac or op it after you scub. Any info would be great. Thanks Brian |

Brian, try it and see for yourself is the best route. some use a machine like the Pilemaster on residential. others use a Cimex. others use a Challenger / Vento. you CAN use anything you want. giving exceptional results is up to the operator.
to encap a resi home i'd do the following:
if i were going to use EncapClean i'd-
1) prevac & edge.
2) apply the E.C. using either a sprayer or showerfeed....depending on the machine i had.
3) scrub it in with a ThinOne....Rick sells them.
4) when clean to my liking, i'd postvac.
5) if requested, apply protectant (i'd ONLY use Soileze for this, after cleaning with E.C.)
6) groom in the protectant (if applied).
7) collect check and move on.
if i were going to use Punch i'd-
1) prevac & edge.
2) apply the Punch using either a sprayer or showerfeed....depending on the machine i was using.
3) let dwell for a couple minutes.
4) apply a wet cotton pad like the Bullseye and clean with my Challenger.
4) when cleaned to my liking, i'd postvac.
5) if requested, apply protectant (i'd use any protector i already had for this).
6) groom in the protectant (if applied).
7) collect check and move on.
pretty straight forward. personally i like doing the latter with Punch. others prefer the former with E.C.
hope this helps --- Derek. |

The soileze is compatable with punch. Other protectors are not. Using other will foul up the crystalazation process from what I understand. Using other protectants will most likey not work properly anyway do to the soileze in the carpet. It will impede the penetration process. The customer will not be getting what they are paying for. Always use compatable products. They are usually made by the same company and intended for use together. Most protectors should not be used in conjunction with antistats, deodorizers, etc etc etc. Like stated above, this will impede the ability of the protector to penetrate the fiber evenly because of other chems in it already. I could be wrong on some of this. But it only makes sense.

true Bob.
i feel that when i am OP'ing with Punch that it is being rinsed out with the wet cotton pads, just as when i OP with any other cleaning solution. therefore i use what i have.
if i am scrubbing a product in and leaving it without rinsing (like EncapClean in my scenario above), then a similar product (like Soileze in that instance) should be used.
just how i do it.
thanx --- D. |
