IICRC Cert worries

September 19 2006 at 9:30 PM
Joe M

Should I be worried about the new carpet mfg warrenties and the IICRC guidlines?

Most of my work for the time being will be res not comm. Which has me worried.

I think; great some suit in a nice plush office makes up rules to tell people who can and can't clean their carpets.

More money out of my pocket and travel time to my local Jon Don which is about 1.5 hours away for a two day course.

Or should I just play it by ear and see what happens. Most home owners wait until they don't remember the color of the carpet anyway befor they clean it, let alone follow the carpet mfg guidlines of a once a year HWE.

Thanks

What , me Worry?

Joe, 99.9% of my customers don't even know what a carpet warranty is. Save your money. Years ago I got every certification possible and we were a "certified firm" You know I can't remember getting any jobs from that. Joe, here is my take on "certifications" I will give you a certificate, and you give me a certificate and guess what? We are both Certified (meaning with certificate) Now let's go to work and earn some money.
